2. American Airlines. American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta are the three main North American airlines flying from major American airports to Europe. All three have recently launched a new, upgraded business class soft and hard product, with improved seats, food, and service on flights to Europe. First-class British Airways passengers can also choose from an a la carte menu featuring Herefordshire beef and pan-fried stone bass, paired with a selection of drinks. In business class, passengers will have to forgo the suite, though the blow is softened by a fully flat bed and global cuisine, plus BA’s signature afternoon tea on certain British Airways Avios and Tier Points Earnings Tables; British Airways Avios and Tier Points Earning Calculator; The latter being good if you have a specific route in mind, and will also calculate the bonus Avios you get if you have Bronze, Silver or Gold British Airways Executive Club status. But to make this a one-stop shop… First Class: British Airways' most famous and exclusive airport lounge is accessible via The First Wing at the south end of the terminal. As the best airport lounge in Terminal 5 (and arguably Heathrow overall), it serves as a quiet and peaceful oasis of sophistication and British excellence. Inside, there are various seating options, including at the bar British Airways 787-10 Cabins. British Airways’ 787-10s are in a four cabin configuration, meaning that the planes feature first class (unlike the similarly sized A350-1000s, which don’t have first class). British Airways’ 787-10s have just 256 seats, including: Eight first class seats; 48 business class seats; 35 premium economy seats bXhXTMy. The largest of all British Airways long-haul jets, the 388 seat Airbus A380-800s, have 14 first class seats. The first class cabin on the A380 is located on the lower deck at the front of the plane. The 14 suites are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, and with no overhead storage down the middle of the cabin, it feels very spacious. On the BA site they list the aircraft type but then on Seat Gurus, there are several versions of each type and BA didn't list which version. I'd like to try the BA Club World seats one day, but in the end, United was about $800 cheaper and showed exactly what aircraft and I was able to choose my seat at no extra charge. 3. FIRST CLASS CABIN. British Airways’ Boeing 777-300ER aircraft features a total of 299 seats: 14 suites in First, 56 flat bed seats in Club World (Business Class), 44 recliner seats in World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy), and 185 standard seats in World Traveller (Economy). There is one direct flight LHR to SAN, but no business class seats left for award travel. We're starting this adventure SAN to LHR in Economy. 6. Re: American Airlines vs British Airways/US Air Business Class. US' domestic first class is pretty lousy - no in- flight entertainment, so-so food, middling service. The Costs of Flying a One-way vs Round-trip. It’s often the case that a one-way flight is not the same cost as the outbound price you see on a return flight search. It can be a lot more expensive! In the example above a multi-cabin return, flight can be purchased for £1,011.52. The outbound Economy flight costs £282.
